Trekking in the Andes

This is a great option for visiting the beautiful Condoriri National Park.
Isolated landscapes with spotless lakes and fascinating Andean fauna like gulls, ibis, Andean Geese and wild ducks.

The trek commences at a height of 4.300m and ascends progressively to a height of 4.600m, taking us past three beautiful lagoons, Tuni, Chojña Khota and Chiara-Khota.
 

3 Days/ 2nigths

 DAY 1: La Paz- Challapampa:

Departure from La Paz until La Cumbre at (4,770 m). Starting from this location, the trek will continue until the Apacheta Pass at (4,900 m). After this pass, there will be a spectacular descent from the high Puna grasslands to the cloud forest or yungas, passing the Chukura small village at (3,650 m) and later arriving to the Challapampa Camp at (2,800 m) in the afternoon. Lunch on the way. Dinner and Overnight at Challapampa.
Higking time: 6 to 7 hrs.

DAY 2: Challapampa-San Francisco:

You will pass through one of the few untouched cloud forest left in Bolivia, protected by the Cotapata National Park. The trail descends through narrow valleys showing more trees, orchids, bromeliads and larger cloud forest trees. Colorful birds and butterflies could be seen. This habitat is home of the Spectacled Bear, rarely seen by visitors. Lunch on the way. Then we will descent, you will reach the Rio Jucumarini then we will arrive to San Francisco Camp at (2,600 m). Dinner and overnight.
Hiking time: 6 to 7 hrs.
 
DAY 3: San Francisco-Chairo:

The trek continues down the Rio Jucumarini valley where forests are more developed. The vegetation will be showing more vegetation with lovely larger canopies adorned by bromeliads, mosses and orchids. Bird life is more abundant. you will finally reach Chairu at (1,200 m). Transfer by car to Coroico. Trip back to La Paz. Private transport.
Hiking time. 6 to 7 hrs. Note. -
