Lake Titicaca Bolivia





  Copacabana & Sun Island


 
 Best known as the (Sacred Lake of the Incas) Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the world (3.810 m.a.s.l.) and is shared between Perú and Bolivia, with total extension of 8.300 km2.

 
This is a mystical región flooded with traditions and relics, has been a ceremonial center since the pre-Hispanic cultures, and currently is a pilgrimage center.

Lake Titicaca & Sun Island 2 Days


 

Day1: La Paz - Copacabana:
We leave from La Paz in the morning  along the way you will observe imposing view of the Royal Andean Range as well as the Titicaca Lake. After three and a half hours, we arrive to this emblematic and spiritual center, once we arrive to this pleasant little town of Copacabana.  After lunch on board of a motor boat we?ll start sailing on the highest navigable lake in order to visit the south section of the sacred Sun Island. There are two main attractions: The Yumani area where we will find out the fountain of water which is supposed to grant eternal youth and Picocaina area, a mysterious Inca Ruin. After visiting this highlights we get back to Copacabana by the same motor boat Optional: You can spend the night of day 1 in the same Island of the Sun instead of Copacabana.


Day 2: Copacabana - La Paz:
An early start is recommended today, so we can profit the visit of (El Calvario) hill, on the way you will have several photo opportunities. Then we will visit the imposing cathedral that shows mudéjar influences in its design, with whitewashed stone walls and multiple domes decorated with deep blue tiles. This temple was originally build by the Augustinian order to house the miraculous Virgin de Copacabana, a beautiful image with a native Andean face, dressed in lavish robes embroidered with gold and silver thread and crowned with a golden halo. The massive gold altarpiece is also remarkable, decorated with silver leaves brought from the Potosi mines and also paintings from the 18th century of invaluable cost decorate the interiors of the church. Afterwards we will visit the colorful market and the souvenir street. After lunch we start our way back to La Paz at this point is also possible to continue towards Puno.

Located in southeast to Bolivia, The Uyuni Salt Flat (Salar de Uyuni) is the largest in the world It sits at 3,653 meters above sea level, extends across 10,582 km2 and has 9 million tons reserve of lithium and other minerals.

This semi-desert and volcanic region envelops economic importance and extraordinary landscapes of natural beauty. The Uyuni Salt Flat and green, yellow and light blue Colored
Lagoons are the greatest attraction in this place.
There are also spectacular geysers, rock formation, and volcanic as well that takes visitors back to a time when the Earth was being created.





 
Uyuni Salt Flat 3 Days
Day 1 La Paz - Uyuni
Departure form La Paz to Oruro village towards a well paved road, we will see the scenic Cordillera Real,  we will have our lunch in Oruro  then we will continue the trip to Uyuni we will see  the vivid blue sky, passing by rural communities until we arrive to Uyuni late in the afternoon about  10 hrs.  accommodation. Day 2  Full day Uyuni Salt
After breakfast  we will  begin our trip to Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt desert in the world. On the way visit the salt explotation and Hotels Colchani salt, continuing the program runs Incahuasi Island (also known as Fish Island). Of volcanic origin and plated estromalitos and giant cactus, from this place are the immensity of the Salar and enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the salt flat and mountains ranges that surround it, then we will come back to Uyuni to spend overnight in your hotel.

Day 3 Uyuni - La Paz
Departure from Uyuni 08:00 A.M  We will get  back to La Paz  about 10 hrs. Aproximatly. so we will stop in Oruro We will have our lunch there then we will continue the trip. we will arrive to La Paz about 17:00 P.M  Acomodation in your

Trekking in the Andes

Choro Trek
  
This is a great option for visiting the beautiful Condoriri National Park.
Isolated landscapes with spotless lakes and fascinating Andean fauna like gulls, ibis, Andean Geese and wild ducks.

The trek commences at a height of 4.300m and ascends progressively to a height of 4.600m, taking us past three beautiful lagoons, Tuni, Chojña Khota and Chiara-Khota.
 

3 Days/ 2nigths

 DAY 1: La Paz- Challapampa:

Departure from La Paz until La Cumbre at (4,770 m). Starting from this location, the trek will continue until the Apacheta Pass at (4,900 m). After this pass, there will be a spectacular descent from the high Puna grasslands to the cloud forest or yungas, passing the Chukura small village at (3,650 m) and later arriving to the Challapampa Camp at (2,800 m) in the afternoon. Lunch on the way. Dinner and Overnight at Challapampa.
Higking time: 6 to 7 hrs.

DAY 2: Challapampa-San Francisco:

You will pass through one of the few untouched cloud forest left in Bolivia, protected by the Cotapata National Park. The trail descends through narrow valleys showing more trees, orchids, bromeliads and larger cloud forest trees. Colorful birds and butterflies could be seen. This habitat is home of the Spectacled Bear, rarely seen by visitors. Lunch on the way. Then we will descent, you will reach the Rio Jucumarini then we will arrive to San Francisco Camp at (2,600 m). Dinner and overnight.
Hiking time: 6 to 7 hrs.
 
DAY 3: San Francisco-Chairo:

The trek continues down the Rio Jucumarini valley where forests are more developed. The vegetation will be showing more vegetation with lovely larger canopies adorned by bromeliads, mosses and orchids. Bird life is more abundant. you will finally reach Chairu at (1,200 m). Transfer by car to Coroico. Trip back to La Paz. Private transport.
